I have done nothing other than promote a service....ok agressively all over the web.....I think the same as has Lee has done in this forum......Find me some useful posts that Lee has made on any forum that is not just a plug for icodes. Then have a look at mine.

I would say that I am no lap dog to anyone.. Lee is quite capable of barking himself! I was writing as an affiliate who does a lot of work for my sites. These are exactly the comments that I find offensive.

I stand by my comment about the transparency... you can see through it! What you need to remember that there are a lot of people reading these posts, and as a member of the forum have a right to put forward my views..

You are the one who has deliberately put links on all the threads, are you afraid your threads won't be read? I would be interested to know where your useful posts are.. I would really like it to get back to the good old days when there were interesting posts, but unfortunately those days are gone.. I'm not that desperate to want to look at your feed.. Anyway, I will leave you to play your silly games and get on with some useful work.

Hole in the Wall....sorry not big TV person

Barbara...still waiting on what the transparency is...I am obviously not as clever as you...so please help me. For a woman I don't think I have ever met you seem to be the one who wades in and has a go at me, I think this is the 2nd or 3rd time. So yes the forum should be more informative, but I don't ever recall having a go at you about anything.

Two Networks have registered to take control of their own codes and 31 merchants so far, the most recent merchants to register were Thomascook (direct holidays & cresta holidays), UK Office Online, OKI-NI, La Senza, Laskys, Kitchen Science

Well done Lee...seriously I am delighted, I would love to know that they will keep doing it, but I have my doubts. Looking at the detail in the codes that merchants and networks send out I hope they do a better job of updating them.

    Example..what are they?

    http://www.ordercodes.co.uk/Applianc...t_codes/A.html

We now have full time staff trying to make sense of some of the stuff we get sent. Hence we will have a login system for networks and merchants, but will be hand checking everything aswell.

Yeah, im aware of a lot of the descriptions being poor especially when the title and description is a duplicate of each other, I was talking about this to Vincent the other day about reducing the max lengh of the 'Title' to stop people simply pasting the decription in there and introducing a minimum lengh for the 'Description' to force a better description.

At the end of the day if the merchant doesn't give everyone better descriptions of what each code is then we are all limited as to what we can do.

I want your sevice to be better. Our goal is quite simple to be capable of distributing quality codes and offers to as many people as possible, hence where we have been spending our time, trying to get the code quality better.

I simply would like you to look at using our code feed, so as to save your users time and effort. Hence allowing them to market their sites better. What is your risk? We may charge you or even turn the feed off, if that was the case then you could go and sort it yourself. We already have lots of sites trialing how to use our codes in their sites.

Yes we will be running some systems similar to yours but then that would just be sensible.

Sorry doug, but we would prefer to have full control of our own codes (meaning the icodes users), when someone adds a code they get familiar with what they have added and iF any problems come to light with that code they then know themselves what needs changing.

If you read a book yourself you have a better understanding of whats happening than if its read to you.

Our database is structured in such a way that enables it to work how it does, if we simply imported the feed of codes form one souce then our whole system would not function the way it does, there is far more going on in the workings of iCodes than what you see on the surface.

You still have full control of the codes.....at present you are pulling them from all over the place, then checking them....what is the difference?

If you get a book from Amazon or collect lots of pages from a dump and create the same book....what is the difference. The book is the same, then you can read it.

What happens if one of your users takes our codes and loads them into your system.....how would you know the difference?

Lee, why not take the Doug's feed and only import the ones that are not already on your database?

That way you won't be 'compromising' your own 'collected' codes, whilst adding any you don't have - has to be a win/win ?
