DFDS Seaways are giving all registered affiliates the chance to win an all expenses paid trip to the Affiliate Summit in Boston this August 2008.
The prize is worth £5000 and includes two tickets to the Summit, return flights from the UK and 4 nights in a 3* hotel. This is an amazing prize for any affiliate to network on an international scale.
To be in with a chance to win, an affiliate must be registered with DFDS Seaways through Buy.at or TradeDoubler. If an affiliate generates a minimum of 5 sales between the 10 February - 10 April 2008 you will be entered into the prize draw. The winner will be chosen at random from these entries.

Granted this is an attrative top prize incentive and nice first sale incentive.
"All affiliates with over five sales will be entered once into the prize draw." The emphasis on once makes it IN theory fairer.
So I am not knocking the generous prize incentive side of things.
However, TD have confirmed there is a a BBG (Brand Bidding Group) on the program. so are these the kind of programs we want to promote where we line the pockets of the members within a BBG? I haven't yet ascertained if there is one via Buy.at, but ads were appearing for various branded ""dfds" seaways" on Google at the weekend with either direct to merchant tradedoubler link or redirecting via DS Connect - Holidays, Cruise, Short breaks and Insurance, who I don't recognise.
I am not in the business of lining BBG'ers pockets, if I could, i would have set up a company and sold it for £75 million.
Also TD or the merchant have not been trasparent & disclosed there is a BBG on the program information page.
Please can you clarify this fo us on the forum & your program information pages on the respective networks.

As Online Executive at DFDS Seaways I can assure you that we do not allow brand bidding on terms such as 'DFDS' or 'DFDS Seaways' on either Buy.at or TradeDoubler.
There is certainly no brand bidding group on either network and this breaks the rules of the programme which are available on both networks. DFDS Seaways regularly checks for brand bidding and operate a two warning system, if an affiliate does not follow the rules they are then removed from the programme. This applies to both networks and is one of our major rules as a merchant.

It looks like they may be using a private program on TD to track brand as the program ID does not correspond with anything in the TD interface. Being a different program on TD mean it should not overwrite affiliate cookies on the current TD program. All is well unless they de-dupe their own PPC using local tracking.
