Some of you might already be familiar with the egg hunt competition we run every year on our site- its great fun.
This year we have a fantastic prize of a Sony Bravia 32" Television, DVD player, surround sound system and 30 action movie dvds. It has an action movie theme to match the prize- you have to hunt down and destroy all the eggs in order to enter!
If you fancy entering or even promoting it on your own sites, this is the competition page Gadgets, games, boys toys & gift ideas from Firebox.com
Its always very popular as its a pretty unique competition, so even though its not a product, promoting it can be a great way to set some affiliate cookies.
And here are some quirky Easter-related products from Firebox that are selling well at the moment:

Happens all the time... even on Loquax - unfortunately it comes down to the merchant/siteowner to do stuff (e.g. randomise the questions for a basic prize draw or move bits and bobs around for treasure hunts) to outwit this situation.
From what I've seen, more sites are being creative in this respect... and even better more are using captcha techniques to stop the automated entries too.

Yep, this is a real shame and rather spoils the fun- also to be honest I try to make the clues relatively easy, so that everyone is able to find the eggs. It shouldn't be necessary to post the answers anywhere!
I like the idea of moving the eggs around randomly, but it would require even more snazzy coding on our side, and we'd have to somehow also randomise the clues. Jason- if you've got any suggestions for how to do this I'd love to hear them . Wouldn't be able to do it for this egg hunt but can consider it for future competitions.

Randomising shouldn't be too hard to do, you could for example force registration and assign each user their own eggs to find from a set of questions (e.g. you create 12 clues and assign 6 to each user).
There's possibility that all get posted to a forum, but I'd also code in a referral check - if a user visited to find an egg outside Firebox (e.g. from a forum) then they lose their eggs and have to start with a new set... although that might be a bit on the cruel side.
But there's always ways and means - you just need to techie them in place and try and second guess how things will work.
People always try and cheat the system, and despite years of trying to explain to compers that competitions should be entered as they're provided, often the explanation sadly falls on deaf ears.
