Here's a way to find out other sites on your server.

Thought I would post this up as i've just found it out myself and it could also help sombody here...

If you have ever wanted to know what other websites share the same IP address with you or your client then head over to MSN and search as follows:

ip: ###.###.###.###

This will reveal all the sites in the MSN index hosted at that IP. If you were wondering why you don't rank in the search engines could it be possible that there's a spammer with the same IP?

Cheers
Paul.

i dont think google would lower 1 ip address rank otherwise it would exclude too much good content. Maybe if that spammers site linked to others on the ip as well it might be an indicator.

Bearing in mind one server can host tens of thousands of websites, one gigabit connections could offer hundreds of thousands of websites on just one ip address.

Searching on MSN will only return other sites it has in its index, not any that have been dropped for blatent spam so your little trick wont work. What you need to do is a thing called "reverse ip lookup" which will list all websites hosted on that server or ip address.

Hope that helps a little more

LOL, try it on google.coms IP address.... *snigger*

Sharing an IP with a spam site isn't an automatic spam flag, but cross linking within an IP is. Beware
