Overture Selling our email addresses?

Hi,

Just a quick heads up - I signed up to overture using the email address

overture @ domain name .co.uk

And have recently begun to recieve spam to this address.

I sign up to things with specific email addresses so it is easy to shut things off if they sell out, likewise to track who gives away email addresses.

Sad if they are cashing in on lists to spammers

Could the spammers not have guessed that email address if many people use your tactic?

I do the same when i sign up at a site - its amazing how many email addresses seem to fall into the hands of spammers from insurance companies and financial institutions! check their privacy policy and threaten with Data Protection act or other privacy laws - ask for compensation into your overture account - some UK banks have paid out £50 if they disclose your email address to others (ie not using BCC etc)
