I had some ads running before Christmas, which had the text "before Christmas" in them. I rejigged the words so it didn;t mention Christmas and 4 of 5 got rejected, even though everything else was the same? I have given up with them, and trying ot figure out how to stop it without losing the money in there. (ie. use it up and THEN stop)

Compared to google AdWords, yahoo/Overture haven't got a clue.

I wanted to change the tracking code in 2000 urls, without changing the destination url or ad text. I call them to ask how to do this and they told me just resubmit. The result: all keywords got refused because they were duplicates.

So I thought, I'll try something else... First I delete all the existing keywords, and then resubmit my spreadsheet. Now about 24 our of 2000 got accepted and the others were refused, even though there was no difference to the existing ads.

The good thing is we freed up some Overture UK budget now to spend on other stuff

Stefan - that is crazy. I would go mad if that happened to me!

I replied to this old thread a few days ago just to get a sense of whether things had improved at Overture, whether I was wise in trying them out again. With all this feedback I have my answer!

    Cheers

This morning I got a bog standard answer from Overture:

"Please be aware that we are always upgrading our systems for a better user friendly friendly interface. In addition to our upgrades our developers are working on putting any new or modifications online instantly and then process an editorial review. This upgrade will also decrease the time you spend managing the account. In the meantime we cannot assure you all your listings will not be declined at this moment.

If you every wish to appeal any declined listings you may send us a Support Request Form with your request. We will then have a Senior Editor review your listings and make one final decision."

-- so I have created a spreadsheet of my declined listings (at least Overture allow me to do that with ease) and sent it via the Support Request Form.

It does though annoy me that the member of staff in their Customer Solutions department couldn't find a solution in so much she could just refer my orginal message to a senior editor.

Anyway I will wait and see what the senior editor comes back with it.

If all my listings get approved - I at least have a solution to eventually getting listings approved. Granted it is long winded and very time consuming.

If my listings aren't approved - It clearly shows the junior reviewers haven't been trained along the same guidelines as the senior ones. Thus a recipe for disaster!

I will let you know how I get on.

    Fingers crossed.

Well today Overture tell me my listings will get a second review. The bad news is that this will take 2 -3 days. It beggers belief how long it takes, I sure hope Overture speed this sort of process up in the future - but then again I said that 3 years ago and nothing has changed.
