Please look at test and report on Nokia Mobile Phones

this is the version 3.0 beta of my urmob - datafeed powered mobile phone comparison script - it works on single makes, colours, clearance deals, best deals, best freegift deals, best cash back deals, auto cash back deals and all of the above together.

Every page of the site is editable - you can add or auto gen custom text, meta tags and h1 tags for all pages - on a full import that adds up to about 400,000 pages + you get a WP blog theme (I am aware of the sidebar going AWOL on the single blog page). And you get home page recent blogs.

the scroller on the home page has a nifty admin func that allows you to pick the best deals to feature & upload a 392 x 284px phone image which gets overlayed on the fly with the corner bands.

you can add videos, specs, downloads, accessories and reviews to mobile phones as well and when content for these exist blue tabs apear on the deal pages like the description one which link to the content - you can also let users add reviews. (Nokia X6 Deals)

Theres loads of features too many to mention - I will work on a full description and some docs when I get time - but for now please test and report on the above so I can get this released soon.

    Great Job

Don't take this the wrong way but I think the search filter functionality is not as user friendly as it can be. If I want to see all the 18 month deals with say 800 minutes. I cannot do that. I can only either view all deals with 800 minutes or all deals with 18 month contract lengths.

Also the pay as you go and sim free tables still have the minutes and texts boxes, which are unnecessary and spoils the look with '0 Minutes' and '0 texts' being displayed.

Instead of 'PAYG' icon being displayed in the table of pay as you go pages, have the network icons instead, will look a lot cleaner in my opinion.

Other than that I don't think there are any real flaws which I can point out. There are a few self preferences like, I would have the minutes before the number of texts in the table and have a separate cell for free gifts etc. But there is no need to incorporate this into your design

I know these are little nitty gritty things but from a customers' point of view, it can make a difference.

It's superb and cannot wait until it's released

Would be more than happy to keep a link in the footer in exchange for the script.

Could you post up screen shots of the admin area and also could you state in more detail the import process. Is it broken up into a lot more parts (other than by each make), unlike the previous scripts?

Thanks for the post m8 the import process is in 5 parts all linked together in a next >> type format we now have a seperate table for tariffs the whole import process is about 50% faster.

Good points on the PAYG and sim free and these are things I will add before release - the filters I wanted to make Ajax but have doubts about SEO I may include an Ajax option for this. It is my intention though to include and advanced phone finder this will include phone --> network -- > tariff OR free mins, texts, contract length or the option to pick the contract and tariff details and then the phones on tariffs that match - there will also be the option of comparing deals on more than one phone - handy if you like both the N97 and N97 mini for instance.

that sounds great ajax option is good to keep it as an option. on my site ive added additional search functions but not under ajax. just a whole bunch of options of mins and txts (probs what you find on majority of mobile comparison sites) to see whether mins or txts near the value chosen exists. ever since adding that to my site i have had a large increase in click through rates.

comparing different phones is an excellent idea and cannot wait for the release.

maybe for future release maybe in v4.0 or something, you may want to add a functionality where the user can click on a deal n save it... then the user searches further for a different phone n deal n then compares that with the deal he had saved earlier on a separate page in a table or something. would be great to have something like that. I can understand that this would involve heavy coding if it is to work correctly and flawlessly. But it's just an idea you may want to ponder upon

That's quite simple actually m8 and is somthing I thought about including in V2 I will add it in - I was going to call it a compare basket and have a little icon next to each deal to add it to the compare basket - the user can then review the basket and select the best deal at the end.

I think on the deals page, within the search functionality; choosing an effective cost brings up deals with that exact effective cost price only.
My opinion is that it should bring up all deals that are equal to and less than the effective cost chosen (from a customer's point of view - I think it would be easier to find the cheapest deal that suits the customer's needs and wants).

    What do you think?
