Mobile Phone Exhibitions/Shows in UK?

Does anyone know of any mobile phone exhibitions or shows which occur in the UK? In particular, I am looking shows where phone manufactures showcase and reveal their latest phones and concepts phones to the public. Do events like this occur in the UK?

On a seperate note, how does a person go about getting free pre launch promotional handsets from manufacturers/networks? I am assuming that you need to be turning over a large volume of sales for companies to even consider doing this for you. It would be interesting to see what the sales figures would need to be.

Just wondering if anyone is already in this position and getting sent free mobile phones for preview/review.

You can contact the press agencies for the manufacturers and networks for getting a loan phone. you usually get them for a week to review.

As for UK events - keep yuor eyes peeled on - News -Mobile News - the best event is 3gsm (now mobile world congress) in Barcelona each Feb (usually around valentines day) GSMA Mobile World Congress | 16-19 February 2009 | Barcelona, Spain - Homepage

The Barcelona exhibition looks very interesing. It would be a good time to go over there when its snowing/raining/freezing here in Feburary. Not sure as to what my girlfriend will say when I tell her I'm going all the way to Spain just to look at some phones though.

Didn't know News -Mobile News existed, but it looks good, and I will be sure to bookmark the site.

With regards to press agencies, are you able to point me in the right direction with contact details? Just done a quick search on Google, but struggling to find anything.

All the major manufacturers have a press micro site - Nokia - Press (these are sometimes quite hidden away - but be persistant)

Mobile News, Fone, What Mobile, Mobile Choice, Mobile Today etc etc - they all have websites. I know Mobile News has a calendar of events in the physical magazine...
