About the new season

Kew is excited to introduce its beautiful new S/S10 collection; combining diverse prints and textures with Kew's quintessentially British styling – from the blue and white porcelains and vintage linens of Classical England to the deckchair stripes and beachside brights of the English seaside town.

The tone of the Kew S/S09 collection is bright and airy with a holiday feel and bright painterly florals lending a fantasy edge to the collection with a nod to the impressionists. Floral prints are stenciled, stripes are painted onto linen cotton cardigans and leathers are soft and washed.

References to the Bloomsbury set are seen in embroidered cotton, blue tones from rich navy to soft china blue and jewellery with the heart and star motifs so adored by the 18th Century aesthetes decorating necklaces and bracelets as charms.

Inspiration for florals come from Glyneborne as Kew mixes the femininity of vintage roses, tonal florals and painted tulip brights with structured pencil skirts, shirtdresses and plain washed linens. A hero product comes in the form of the Monet printed canvas mac with vivid painterly floral print on an A–line jacket – perfect over a summer dress or with linen shorts and canvas wedge espadrilles for a day in the gardens.

Kew also takes a trip to Cornwall for High Summer with checked linen dresses, deckchair stripe scarves, nautical Breton stripes and casual straw trilbies, trainers and leather flats. Tan and navy work beautifully together for a simple laid back chic look. Jewellery is beach friendly with beautiful threadwork cotton necklaces and chunky tribal pendants. Bright colours mimic the beach huts which have become synonymous with the English seaside.

Accessories are key for S/S10 – the boot is back for spring in tan and chocolate leather and ballet pumps lift outfits in jewel brights. Outfits are finished with fringed summer scarves and bags feature Safari–style pocket detailing and plait leather straps.
