Ok, your post attracted my attention as i have recently started a career in affiliate marketing so i can relate to the question you are asking.

I work for Little Star Media and we are in the process of launching a site and i am in charge of recruiting affiliates to promote the website. I have completed a lot of research into affiliate marketing and i feel this method is the most effective way to promote your site. This is basically a virtual salesforce that promotes your site using information/banners/Links etc

Start by searching for affiliates that are relevant to your site on Google or by promoting your affiliate campaign on forums, then when you have recruited affiliates you pay them a commission for the traffic they send through to your site. The pay best thing about affiliate marketing is it is purely based on results and you can monitor your results very easily using a network.

By sending the affiliate offers from your website this will widen your reach and you should see more traffic entering your site

I am new to this industry but you can quickly learn by searching the internet or reading books about affiliate marketing
