Summer Skin Care

A little sun is beneficial. It lifts our spirits and helps the skin to manufacture vitamin D, which assists in the efficient absorption of calcium into the body where it contributes to strong bones and teeth.

But too much UV light damages the skin. UVA ages it prematurely, UVB burns it, and both UVA and UVB increase the risk of skin cancer. It may be hard to accept but a tan is a sign the skin has been damaged. Hot weather dries the skin out too, leaving it flakey and irritated.
If you get sunburned or suffer an insect bite or sting then Aloe Vera is soothing. If spots or fungal skin infections appear, and get in the way of looking good, Tea-Tree oil is worthy of consideration to clear these problems up.
