It was announced today that following a successful trial, Cambridgeshire police plans to spend nearly £3,000 buying 'Shewees' for female officers so that they can relieve themselves more easily while on patrol.

Shewees are plastic funnels which allow women to urinate while standing and without removing clothes. Women can stand at public toilets and avoid unhygienic seats, or use a convenient container when a toilet is unavailable.

Shewees have been used by polar explorer Ann Daniels and Bonita Norris, the youngest British woman to climb Everest. Celebrities Fearne Cotton and Alesha Dixon also used Shewees when they climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.
