Thanks to whoever put this together (I assume Webgains?) great to see such incentives.

Only comment would be maybe add another way to gain entries, to try and get the small affiliates onside. For example like AF do with the infamous holiday giveaway.

Might give this a go myself :-)

hmm, interesting! With regard to #2 - newly registered domains - I have a domain registered in 2008 but has NEVER had a site there, so to Google it would be a brand new domain. Does this mean I can't use it?

    Hi Babrees,

I thought I'd step in at this point to clear up the ruling for your question.

URLs that have been purchased beforehand can be entered but may be rejected you will need to submitted the URL (via email) to me so I can check that there are no site URLs index and that there are no existing back links that could give you an unfair advantage over other entries in the competition.

if you want to drop me a quick message with your URL I'll get this checked and confirm the URL is OK.

    Thanks

So you would prefer a competition with no prize? How is it any different from the previous A4U competitions?

Other competitions have involved some pre discussions via affiliates with affiliates being free to choose whom to work with. This is a simple merchant incentive. Just my opinion. Not for me.

Yes, this is not a competition, simply a promotion of the easyjet scheme.

Previously we had discussions on which niche to pick and all.. Now someone just comes up with a niche and expects everyone to follow.

Who was the winner of the previous competition by the way?

Whilst I agree this is not really a competition more of a merchant incentive, I still think this is a great way of encouraging affiliates to start a site in a particular area.

Many merchant incentives are aimed at the big guys who already have the traffic so by restricting things a little more and adding terms to the incentive it gives anyone new to the niche a fair chance of winning a prize.

Hat's off to EasyJet for doing this.

Sounds good to me, I'm in, bought my domains, developing the sites right now.

    Hi All,

Sorry if this has been taken the wrong way by some of you, this is really meant to be a bit of fun for anyone thinking of starting or interested in starting a holiday website and if it's been posted in the wrong forum for this type of thing then can one of the Mods please move this to the correct place

That said so far we have had a pretty good response with a few of you having already submitted your URL's to me so please keep them coming.

@confuscius - sorry if we did something wrong which has put you off entering, if you have any feedback please email me with this, I'm always looking for way to improve the easyJet Holidays programme and our interaction with affiliates and although we’ve spent a fair amount of time planning this with kimarie over the last couple of month it sounds like in your opinion we have missed a few things.

@Srciptmonkey - I'm glad to hear you so keen on the competition / Merchant incentive but I don't think I've seen an email with you with the URL yet (just checking encase I’ve missed it somewhere).

    Thanks

Rufus, we had an email conversation yesterday, I said I'd probably sell one of the domains to another participant.

Seems like a promo/incentive to me - have moved this (and similar) to what I believe is the appropriate forum, but I'm happy to be corrected

    Addition:
Just seems like this would open the door to allow any merchant to post a promo under the guise of running an 'A4U' competition.

    Hi All,

I thought now would be a good time to introduce the new easyJet Holidays toolbox, provided from AdNet Media.

There are 3 tools currently available in our toolbox

Each of these 3 tools has the option to be placed on your site as a contextual ad, which will match the most appropriate holidays in the ad to the content of your page. Or, if you prefer, you can manually set this for each ad.

All holidays offered within the unit are updated every night, so you'll always have the latest deals and prices displayed.

To take advantage of these tools, you will need to be signed up, and approved to the easyJet Holidays affiliate programme, available from Webgains. Once you're approved for the programme, simply click here where you will need to enter your Webgains ID, your email address, and ad a few lines of code to your site (your email will only be used to notify you of any changes or new tools).

Once your all setup, sales will track in the Webgains interface as normal, and you'll still receive your 3% commission on all easyJet Holidays bookings.
