When buying your bed linen and towels you will definitely feel the difference with Egyptian cotton as the quality is extraordinary and the softness unbeatable. Traditionally grown along the banks of Egypt’s river Nile, Egyptian cotton has longer fibres which produce more luxurious finishes. To get the most in softness make sure the products you are buying are 100% Egyptian cotton as cotton blends are not as luxurious or soft and do not last anywhere near as long. Although products made from Egyptian cotton are likely to be slightly more expensive, you gain in quality and longevity so it is well worth the investment.

Why Choose Egyptian Cotton?

Choosing Egyptian cotton over more standard cotton has many advantages. First of all Egyptian cotton has a softer more luxurious quality that standard cotton just doesn’t have. With various thread counts (the number of threads in a square inch) you can get a variety of different quality finishes from Egyptian cotton. For example an 800TC sheet will feel softer and have a better quality than a 200TC sheet so it is always worth paying that little extra. After a few washes standard cotton starts to bubble up and develop small fabric balls on the surface which are rough and irritate the skin. Wash after wash Egyptian cotton stays smooth and soft and even gets softer and more comfy with age. Egyptian cotton fibres are more absorbent making them ideal for dying as they retain the brightness of the colour better and for longer, so no more faded sheets or towels! The high absorbency of the fibres also makes Egyptian cotton ideal for towels as they absorb moisture quickly and gets you dry with out irritating your delicate skin. Another benefit of choosing Egyptian cotton is that it is breathable, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter so it is ideal for bedding all year round. Through out the years Egyptian cotton has remained a firm favourite among those who enjoy a little of life’s luxuries so treat yourself to the elegance of Egyptian cotton today.
