LOCH CRERAN (nr Appin) - The Boathouse Cottage - Argyll

In a spectacular picturesque setting directly on the shore of Loch Creran and surrounded by mountains, farmland and a nature reserve, Inver Boathouse (AG481a) was built in 1907 as the landing point and lodge for the captain of the steamship which supplied the glen. In 1993 the boathouse was carefully restored and an adjacent property was converted into this attractive semi-detached cottage (to the right of the boathouse in the photograph). There are wonderful views of the mountain ranges and sea loch. Birds and wildlife abound on the foreshore and loch including oyster catchers, otters and seals. Visitors to the cottage can enjoy the beautiful peaceful surroundings from their own beach (shared with boathouse guests). Boats can be launched on the slipway - boat hire can be arranged on request. Boating and diving is either in the sheltered waters of the sea loch or in the open sea (4 miles). There are excellent opportunities for sea/loch fishing and fly fishing. All types of walks are available locally, and Glencoe/Fort William are within easy reach for mountain walking /climbing and skiing in season. There are many places of interest to visit and several good restaurants in the area. Pub 2 miles, shops 5 miles.

UIG - Isle of Skye

In a beautiful wooded location high above Loch Snizort, this delightful detached house enjoys magnificent views over the bay and headlands to the Outer Isles. Well furnished in a comfortable and welcoming manner, the house has a safely enclosed, well kept grassy garden with garden furniture to enjoy the surroundings and watch the island ferry ply to and fro. Apart from one bedroom all rooms are on ground level.
