Priorat has fairly recently gone through a huge period of transition. Since the 1990s, the best wines from this region are some of Spain's most sophisticated and sought-after reds. Beautiful Gold Medal Reserva from Rioja. The nose is pronounced and intense with notes of ripe red fruits, vanilla and caramel. On the palate, the wine boasts flavours of candied fruit, chocolate, coffee and light, very pleasant wood aromas. The wine is extremely well-balanced with a long finish.

Italy (red): Morello Barolo DOCG 2007

The nose is pronounced and complex with aromas of ripe strawberries, tar, roses, violets and truffles. On the palate, the wine shows a wonderful complexity with hints of smoke and chocolate. Well balanced with a long finish.
