The BOSS Orange Menswear Collection for Fall/Winter 2011 was inspired by a rich medley of influences from old Amsterdam – historic buildings, a magnificent abandoned villa and nearby woods.

Vintage and antique elements define the modern, urban BOSS Orange look. A tonal palette captures the understated grandeur of the Dutch city.

The colours seem to flow into each other, extending from warm shades of brown and beige through grey mélange to pistachio and night-shadow blue.

The fabrics are washed, dyed and sprayed to achieve an authentic used look with vintage character. In classic BOSS Orange style, linings and details display meticulous workmanship. In the movie world, it is very common for 2 sets of props to be made. An expensive version, often called the “Hero” version, used for photo ops and marketing. Then there is the filming model or “Stunt” version. Often there were several sabres made as they were needed for filming, choreography in scenes etc. More often than not, it is the stunt version that you would see the characters using. As it can require many takes to get a scene right, these stunt props were often subject to very hard use.
