Start London - The London Design Scene: LFW and The London Design Festival
There's a lot going on in the London design scene this week with both The London Design Festival and London Fashion Week kicking off in the next few days. This week they're highlighting their involvement with Shoreditch Design Triangle and looking at their new Autumn/Winter 2011 womenswear arrivals to put together some fashion week worthy looks.
The London Design Festival
In conjunction with The London Design Festival and Shoreditch Design Triangle, START is handing over the window spaces of their womens and menswear store to two up-and-coming Shoreditch based designers for the duration of the festival.
Their womenswear store will feature Ciara O’Neill's sculptural lanterns, which are constructed using corrugated polypropylene and covered with fabric to create striking containers for light. Product designer Harry Hasson will be installing his furniture into the menswear store. His ‘Ratchet’ furniture uses no screws, no nails and no glue but is held together simply by the strength of a built-in ratchet.
The festival will be celebrated in style on Tuesday 20th September as stores within the Shoreditch Design Triangle will stay open until 8pm.
Join Start London from 6.30 - 8.30 pm, on the 20th Septemeber for a drinks reception to celebrate their two exhibiting designers.
