    Hi Guys and Gals

I have recently launched a new cashback site - www.cashbackfriends.com and in response to requests from a number of you have decided to launch an affiliate scheme.

In recognition of the help and support I have received from others on this forum I've decided to make the scheme exclusive to a4uforum members.

Details of the scheme are as follows:

    1. Absolutely no spyware affiliates need apply
    2. Choice of commission scheme - either £1 per valid sign up*
    or
profit share (residual) - you 'own' your member for life.
    3. Commission payments 42 days in arrears - i.e. you will be paid for September signups/transactions on 12th November

    How to apply:

Simply register as a normal member at www.cashbackfriends.com and follow the instructions to obtain your referral url.

Once you have done this you must either PM me here or email me at info at findmethebestprice.co.uk with your cashbackfriends member number, your a4uforum member id and the url of the website you will be using to promote cashbackfriends. If you don't do this you'll just be a member of the cashbackfriends refer a friend scheme and receive 5% of cashback earned by your referrals

*valid sign up = a member who signs up with a valid verifiable email address and who performs at least one cashback qualifying action.

Any queries - either email me, PM me or ask them here

    Thanks

    Keith

ps: just realised I guess I'm now an affiliate and a merchant - watch out guys I'll be starting a network next

Good luck with the project Karl. It's always interesting to watch how cashback sites develop, I think you might just have found a slightly different niche with yours, we'll see!

I've now enabled tracking on the prize draw page so you can link direct to there - the prize draw page is converting very well so I would recommend you link there rather than the home page of the site

To link to the prizedraw page you need to use the url

    http://www.cashbackfriends.com/cashb...raw.php?refer=

and add your memberid after the refer=

    K,
I think your page layout is a bit off on that page, I have a 2 inch wide vertical strip of text down the centre column next to the robosapien images.

Robo does a lot of what the missus does

" pick-up, throw, kick, dance, kung-fu, fart, belch, rap and more"

    I want one!

Well I've waited and waited... but still no stats or payment so it's time to bring this into the open.

Has anyone who was daft as I was to promote this independent scheme and the related santa site received any stats or payment from Keith?

I've mailed week in week out this month, and had the same kind of "it'll be next week".

I've chased for stats, never ever received an email first, and am far from happy with what I believe is now on the border of not good enough.

The santa site was supported heavily by a lot of merchants though competition prizes, and a good number of my users visited the site for this.

    Not at all impressed.

Have you tried calling him? He's probably one of the nicest blokes on the forum and certainly one of our first merchants to make sure his account with us is paid.

Weren't you paid for cashback purchases rather than people entering competitions?

I've emailed every week... same response "next week"!

I didn't say that was what he was paying for... but by promoting his competitions, he did get a bit of traffic and registrations.. and users do register and then go on and purchase... and that's what he pays for.

I imagine his users had to register with the site to enter the competitions and many will have gone on and made purchases.

    Jason

I'm sorry you feel disgruntled - I have responded to all of your emails on the same day and normally within a couple of hours.

As I have explained in my emails, we have encountered some technical difficulties in reconciling our tracking with the reports produced by the networks. We must complete this reconciliation before we can make payment to you, both to protect ourselves and to ensure you receive exactly what you are due.

You have my word that the very minute our reconciliation is complete, you will be provided with full statistics (which you are welcome to audit) and payment will be made to you.

I appreciate that the current situation is frustrating for you and can assure you that I am as keen to get it resolved as you are.

I'm disgruntled because i've had to chase you every step of the way. Yes you've been great at responding - every reply you've had "This should be done within the next 7 days"! The last one said, after the weekend... the weekend's gone.

The conversion rate does not surprise me, and i seriously doubt you owe us anything but buttons, but you did gain quite a few registrations and traffic from us week to week from 1st Oct right through to December - and if we'd had stats and the ability to know the program was a poor earner it would have allowed us to make a decision regarding promotion.

I have to say Keith, I don't think it's appropriate to display other affiliates conversion rates in a public forum like this. If Jason wants to then that's his prerogative, but certainly not the merchant's.

first let me tell you that your site loads very slowly even on a 1mb line

secondly it would be better if you "standardized" the windth and length of your website appearance....too many banners too much scrolling.

third and it is the one that i am most confused of is that you mention somewhere on you wesite FAQs the following

    ===quote===
We are able to do this by using the latest systems to minimise our administration costs, paying your cashback directly into your bank account and negotiating the best possible deals with retailers on your behalf.
    ===unquote===

what kind of systems are you using? and when you're saying you are paying directly on the account, the visitors believes that each transaction would convert and transfered immediatelly, although by reading the rest of the faq this is not the case.

above just for your information and assistance

Point taken - I have removed that paragraph.

    KGP

We are having server problems this morning which are causing all of our sites to load slowly - we are currently working with our hosting co to track down the cause of this problem

BTW - the majority of Jason's traffic was to our Christmas site and not to the Cashback Friends site.
