You could do over 100 sales between today and the 11th May and that will get you entry into a prize draw for one ticket. Since that's only really going to excite a handful of affiliates, the other two tickets are slightly more attainable!

I'll be posting here and on our blog some tasks/missions/absurd questions on a daily basis. Each day you can attempt such task/mission/absurdity and a winner or winners will be added to the prize draw at the end of the incentive.

I Don't Do Travel
Prepare to be assimilated! We're going to make it very easy and painless to encourage you to take your first affiliate steps into travel. Keep thinking "Barbados...Barbados...Barbados" and you won't even notice you're becoming a travel affiliate!

Mission #3 - Home

You've chosen a domain that'll be for your new travel site, and could be going on holiday on Friday for free.
Now here comes mission 3.

You have 72 hours to get a homepage up on your new domain.

That gives you enough time to get hosting and DNS sorted, and plan the design / layout of your new travel site! Isn't this exciting!

In case you haven't clicked yet, by the end of this incentive, even if you don't win the trip to Barbados you're going to have a rather useful holidays website! You really want to get involved as there's many more interesting twists and surprises to come!

To help you out, here's our list of what your new homepage should include-

• Relevant title and meta tags - related to the country/region/resort you've chosen
• Logo - a nice logo goes a long way to adding a professional feel to your site
• Menu - a prominent menu that will be used to link further into your site. If you've selected a country for example, the menu will contain resorts of that country (we'll get to those pages soon!)
• Headline Content - Make it very clear in a paragraph or two what you are offering. Don't add too much text!
• Images - throw in a couple of images, sell the dream!

I'm delighted to reveal that Steven Marwick will be undertaking Mission #2!

Steven will be heading off to Palma Nova, Majorca on Thursday morning for a week of sunshine.co.uk maintaining his cover story of being a brit on holiday.

We're looking forward to regular updates on his mission, particularly the pictures of Steven with "a man in speedos" every day!

Thanks a million Chris, this is looking like an awesome trip! I'm slightly apprehensive about the guy in speedos thing but hey.

Thumbs up to the sunshine.co.uk crew for getting non travel focussed affiliates to look seriously at the travel vertical. Innovative competitions which are within the reach even of complete newbie affiliates are surely a way to encourage people, both new and more experienced.

Hmm, he lands in around 20 minutes from now, 30 minutes to an hour to get through airport, 30 minutes to resort, another hour or so to get checked in and settled.

I'd like to think we'll be seeing pictures of speedos/thongs by late afternoon! :tup
