Virgin Money loan and credit card – temporary suspension.

We have been notified by Virgin Money’s media agency that their Loan and Credit Card affiliate programmes must be temporarily suspended with immediate effect.

It is anticipated that the programmes will go live again within the next week or so, but I will contact you again to confirm at the beginning of next week.

OMG and Virgin genuinely understand the inconvenience that this causes to affiliates, and as you know OMG do everything we can to avoid suspensions or at least to give as much notice as possible. Unfortunately in this case there is no avoiding an immediate suspension.

All we can ask is that you bear with us on this, and I will inform you of the reinstatement date as soon as we possibly can.

fecking merchants are taking the pi$$ with this "immediate effect" crap though, bout time they had a bit more respect for us and gave us a couple of days at least.

We do appreciate that the suspension of the Virgin campaigns is a big inconvenience to you, please be assured that we did do everything possible to delay the suspension in order to give you some warning of the situation, unfortunately this time the client could not offer us anymore time.

Thank you all for your understanding and patience on this matter, we are awaiting further news on when the campaigns can go live again, I will update you as soon as I hear anything.

There should be penalties for giving less than one weeks notice built into the contracts between merchants and networks so as to protect affiliates.

It may be called a "suspension" but for all intents and purposes its a cancellation followed by a relaunch and there are normally rules about notice periods for cancelling contracts
