OMG are delighted to announce the launch of our first charity merchant - Cancer Research UK.
Cancer Research UK is the leading independent funder of cancer research in the UK. The registered charity carries out world class research to improve understanding of cancer and find out how to prevent, diagnose and treat its different types. The organisation ensures its findings are used to improve the lives of all cancer patients.
Cancer Research UK relies almost entirely on public donations for its funding. Ongoing support is crucial to ensure the long-term funding of vital research projects.
One way to ensure this is via online donations. Regular giving by Direct Debit helps Cancer Research UK to plan for the future. Supporters can also make credit card donations. Both are done through simple online forms created specifically for the affiliate programme.
The core objective of the campaign is to acquire regular donations. Campaign creative reflects this, focusing exclusively on Direct Debits. However, affiliates will be paid for both online Direct Debit submissions and online credit card donations acquired directly through the affiliate scheme.
There are two commission options. Affiliates can either:
1) receive commission in the usual way or
2) if you’d like to give additional support we have enabled you to waive your commission. This will help the charity to really maximize the amount they receive from each donation, and we ask you to consider giving your support in this way.
These options and payments are detailed below:
Campaign Commission
Direct Debit £10
Direct Debit (waived commission) £0
Online Credit Card Donation 6% of donation value
Online Credit Card Donation (waived commission) 0%
We are very excited to be working with Cancer Research UK and are proud to be a part of increasing support for their vital work. We hope you will choose to give this programme your full support and promote it on your sites.
Clicks and sales are tracked by OMG. Sales will be reported daily and validated by the merchant monthly. At present, if a visitor closes their browser mid-way through the transaction and returns via a different URL to complete the donation Cancer Research UK cannot track this. We are working with Cancer Research UK to develop this additional tracking solution and expect to deliver this soon after the launch of the core programme . We do not foresee this having a noticeable impact on affiliate volumes. We felt it was important for the core programme to launch as soon as possible to help drive donations to this well known charity organisation.
Please log in today and sign up at www.omguk.com for approval or contact your Account Manager for more information.

Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.
If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.
Only bit I don't quite understand - from their conditions - I can understand the no display on pages showing alcohol and tobacco, gambling etc.
Don't quite get the no display on pages showing mobile phones or confectionery though ?

This is a nice idea - one quick question though, if an affiliate waives their commission will OMG do likewise with their's?Direct Debit (waived commission) £0

OMG takes a significantly reduced commission across the whole Cancer Research UK programme, and an even greater reduction when affiliates choose to waive their commission. The latter is simply to cover administration costs, as unlike most networks we do not charge any set-up or management fees.
Cancer Research UK have restricted placement of their brand on pages showing confectionery & mobiles due to their stance on healthy lifestyles and possible causes / links with cancer.
Maintaining a healthy body weight is one of the best ways to reduce your chances of getting cancer; about a quarter of all cancer deaths are caused by unhealthy diets and obesity. A key part of Cancer Research UK’s purpose is helping people to understand cancer and the choices they can make. Cancer Research UK is therefore taking steps to minimise brand association with confectionery.
With regards to mobile phones there has been lots of publicity regarding a possible link and it is therefore an area that Cancer Research UK would like to restrict on their affiliate program.
