Is Atlas tracking still a problem?

For the last month or so I've started to accumulate RBS insurance pending sales which don't validate - I've never had this before, they always validated 100%. Also sales per click for certain RBS products are well down. Is anyone else seeing the same thing - or is it just that my leads are rubbish?

Re: Is Atlas tracking still a problem?

Hello Laurie,

Many thanks for your post.

As you know the atlas tracking that has been implemented on the RBS campaigns means that sales will be attributed to the last click referrer. As a result the statistics you see in the total transactions column will not always be reflected in the validated transactions column, as some of these transactions may have completed through another advertising channel.

You mention that this is not a trend that you have seen before and this suggests that there may well be some additional promotional activity of the RBS products in the web space that you have been occupying, which is likely to have impacted the validation rate you have been used to seeing.

With regard to the conversion rates, we have seen a drop across some of the RBS products as a whole from February to March, but this seems to be due to seasonality, and we are now seeing these conversion rates lift this month so again this seems to be short-lived.

If you’d like to discuss this further, don’t hesitate to give us a call direct.

Kindest regards,
Arron

Re: Is Atlas tracking still a problem?

Thanks for the reply Arron, I have been in contact direct about this but what I want to find out is whether other affiliates have seen the same thing or whether it is indeed, as you suggest, connected to something I've done on my site. I'm afraid that whilst I try to look kindly upon Atlas I would rather trust your tracking than theirs any day of the week.

Re: Is Atlas tracking still a problem?

i get loads of kwik fit insurance that never validates. Not had one in two months from about 30 tranactions

Am I misunderstanding this or something? Surely the sale should go to the click that generarated the original quote - anything else is wrong

Re: Is Atlas tracking still a problem?

Quickfit quotes are posted as 'unvalidated transactions' and I understand that if the client gets more than one quote that means more than one 'transaction' appears in the stats. Yes Insurance is the same, they were a nuisance cluttering the reports up too, which was one of the factors when I decided to drop them.

Currently around half of my RBS deals don't validate since last month though and this is something I'd like to find the root cause of - whether it's still an on-going problem with the tracking, or maybe it's something I'm doing wrongly. Dunno if anyone else has any thoughts or suggestions about this?

I couldn't agree more with Gunneradt that sales should go to the site generating the first click - this IMO would be better for everyone but no doubt brand bidders and cashbackers would disagree :-)
