  Rejected!

Just been rejected by all three wine merchants I applied to!

OK, so my wine site is new and not yet launched, but if they reject you because of that you will NEVER get started!

Plus OMG didn't even have the courtesy to send me an email to tell me I had been rejected.

The merchants may not be taking on any new affiliates at present.

Your wine site is not yet launched? You mean, it's still under construction? If so it's hardly surprising they turned it down.

WHY? Nobody else has and have never had that before with other new sites, only those with OMG! In fact I have had other sites approved that were not so advanced as this one!

It will be launched in about a week just sorting out all the content to upload now.

OMG also have two applications (pet insurance) still pending after probably two or more weeks. And they are for a very well established (8 years) pet site that is chocka block full of unique content. OMG can only comment that the merchants usually take a long time!

I have a site which has been 'under construction' for ages and haven't had a problem getting accepted by any merchants.

It can be very difficult with new affiliates sites, you can't get approved if your site has no products, but then you can't put on products unless your approved.

A way round this is to pick a merchant and then put the products up anyway, whether you're approved or not and put the site live. You should then be able to get approved by other merchants, as they can't tell if you aren't approved yet for the current products.

Once you've got the others signed up, you can approved by the original merchant or take down their products.

Perhaps a better way is to get some content on it and then apply to the merchants. If you have content the search engines will find it but if it's all dynamically-served ads there's no meat for them to chew on.
