Re: RBS Insurance - New Creative and Editorial
It is natural that the temporary or permanent closure of affiliate programs is going to promote speculation about a merchant’s or network’s business performance.
As these decisions are confidential business matters, we are unable to disclose full reasons for changes. It could put our competitors at an advantage, for example.
RBS Insurance has confirmed that the Privilege home and Churchill pet and travel affiliate programs have closed due to a change in marketing strategy. Our business is a matrix of brands and we will therefore occasionally shift marketing focus for various reasons. When we do this, it usually affects all of our media and not just affiliates.
We have always been very pleased with the performance of OMG, as one of our key online agencies. We have continued to see healthy sales volumes at efficient cost levels from our affiliate activies, in a market that is one of the most competitive and expensive online. We have had to deal with certain problems this year, but as I have mentioned in previous forum posts these have been dealt once the root of the problem has been properly established. It is a shame that affiliates can’t see all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at networks to improve performance for all sides and I will reiterate that we are happy for affiliates to contact us direct or via OMG with any issues or concerns they may have.
