Anyone have any thoughts on whether naming a sitemap sitemap.php might prevent it getting indexed? I had a link to a new sitemap to introduce the new product pages on the website before the last big google dance, before i'd written the content etc to give the users access to it in anticipation of a delay in indexing.
Yet dispite google coming back and re-indexing many pages perhaps 7 or 8 times since it still hasn't looked at sitemap.php once.. how rude, i thought..
would it be prudent to rename it something else or am I just being impatient and paranoid?
I've some other linkfarm type sitemap pages google happily digests but they've all got individual names..
Don't worry about it, I have loads of sites. Sometimes I am lucky and they rank well in 2 days other times it's 3 or 4 months.. What can you do? Well you can make more sites and spread the risk LOL
