Does changing web hosts affect Google caching and listing?
I have recently changed web hosting and then 2 days later google dropped all my listing, only partially spidered my sites and now does not have a cached version of the site...
No, normally it goes without a hitch, but as always you should make sure that BOTH sites are running at the same time. DNS changes take some time to replicate.
here's what happened to me - my old host archived my site as I had used over my allocation....so I changed host and google obviously came sniffing for an update - I only had my new site running so if google went looking for my old IP it was not there - and therefore all my pages only had the URL displaying in the listings....
Hi ya bentos, sorry i didn't pm you back, been well busy. It sounds like that might be the case in your situation. Have your urls been refreshed yet?
Mine havn't I think in my case my site may have been penalised, though i'm not sure how to tell. I still have a PR of 5 and most internal pages have a pr, but nothing in the cache - very strange indeed and not what we need at this time of year.
Hopefully your site will refresh now you have your hosts sorted.
