Adsense - how does it work?

Just wondered if anyone knew how Adsense actually works, and in what order?

How exactly does it decide which add to show?

Is it based on page title, meta data, content - and in which order? The reason I ask, is that I have page titles different, content that is different yet still the same ads show up.

The pages are crawled by the media bot regularly, but just wondered if its to do with my meta tags not changing a great deal?

And one other thing
Have often wondered, in the meta-keywords fields of your pages, do you list a load of words related to your site, do you comma sep them all? Has anyone tried doing both and found which performs better, if any?

Dynamoo is an unknown quantity at this point
AdSense seems to know the theme of a site, so it can try to serve up relevant ads regardless of whether the page has actually been crawled by the AdSense bot yet. So if you create a new page, there will automagically be ads on it. These ads *should* become more relevant after the crawl.

But it does have a habit of picking up on unexpected keywords, doesn't it? I mean, I can title the page "Widgetmaster 3000", put "Widgetmaster 3000" in the <H1></H1> tags, sprinkle the keywords liberally throughout the text, include meta keywords and a description and even have a top 10 ranking in the SERPs for those keywords and blooming AdSense will still not display the ads you'd get it you just typed "Widgetmaster 3000" into Google proper. <sigh>
