  Using Adsense to help SEO

Don't know if this has been mentioned before but a good tip
for anyone, who like me has hundreds of template pages built
but with little content on them yet.
Put Adsense on the page.
This will tell you what google thinks the page is about and you
can then build the content to suit, giving you an instant boost.

Having adsense on an empty page could contravene the Adsense terms and conditions - particularly if there are lots of empty pages.

You can you the 'Google Adsense Preview Tool' to get the same effect.

Slightly off topic but... does anyone know whether there is any evidence to suggest a bias towards pages with adsense as opposed to Google rivals like Espotting etc?

I think what TJ is saying is to use this strategy on pages with a little content, not empty ones. If the page has a little content, then Adsense would decide what the page is about. From there you could write more content on that subject and potentially generate a page with better optimization.

I don't know if it would work but djs is right, it's so obvious and easy that it's definately worth a shot.

Yes JonnyQ888,
that is what I was referring to.
I have loads of pages that are just a simple template and
minimum content on them.
Adding AdSense to them sometimes gives surprising results as
to what Google sees the page is about and I can then build the
content to suit.

Hi TJ,

I always worry about having adsense on template style pages or pages with little or no content, but my main point was the adsense preview tool.

You can achieve better results using this as it shows you more ads and you can also change the country location. The tool will give a preview of any page from your specified location from an adsense pov.

Search for 'adsense preview tool' for more info.

(By the way, we met at the Endsleigh g2g - Nick from Worcester)

It also depends on if there are any ads for your chosen niche. One of my sites comes up with domain name ads and it's not to do with that.
