Hi,
I bought a site a few weeks back that had been offiline for a while. The holder page had a
PR 5, which dropped to a 3 at the last google index update. I wasn't really surprised, it'd been offline for about 3 months.
However, when I was messing around last night I discovered that
http://www.mydomain.com has a pr3, while
http://mydomain.com still shows a
PR 5.
I've seen this before, and I know it has to do with what Google views as the default home page of the site. I've only had the new hosting properly switched on and configured for about two weeks, so it might be this will eventually fix itself.
Just wondered if anyone could tell me what I have to check out with my hosts to make sure that everything is ok from a
PR / default pages point of view, so my site can get up and running efficiently asap?
Cheers!
Kirsty
