Care to enlighten me?

Its a subscription thread only.

I am entriged by peoples theories on the 'sandbox' as I always experience the opposite from most people.

I tend to make a site and within a week its been spidered (by google) and performs well on the keywords I aim for, for around a month. Then after that the site normally bombs out. (But climbs in other search engines eg msn and yahoo - strange)

For this reason I tend to pump out at least two sites a months at the least.

Sorry, didn't realise it was subs-only.

This is the main point of discussion:

Google ranking on historical data (patent)

It isn't subs only. Its just their site is selective about what it lets you see depending on whether there is a Y in the day or a R in the month.

nah, I think you just have to register an account. It's worth the effort.

Erm what worked for me the other night was cutting to the root of the domain, trying the thread pasted in, searching for the thread, banging head against wall, navigating around their site for 10 mins frustrated, makign a brew, trying the domain again, going to the url pasted in, trying a different browser, searching for thread and then finanlyl I think navigating in from a different thread entirely to it.

Dunno really.
;-)

I guess I should subscribe.

The important bit is the 30 page document - although once they've let bits of their method be known it'll be easy to reverse engineer results for it to meet their needs and then google will be more useless than it is now.

I'd suggest spending as much time creating new content for your own sites as reading about optimising for google.

Will depend on the individual and what your MO is.

If you just hack pages of content together yourself, you might not get much out of it. If you do *business* on the Internet, you might.

For me, yes.

Beware of subscribing to webmasterworld. They renew your account without notifying you first and there is nowhere on the site to cancel your account.

I tried it for 3 months, not realising they would deduct the amount for the next quarter without notification. I managed to get my money back eventually but now, another 3 months later, despite the account being cancelled, they've deducted the subscription again from my paypal account.

I'm still trying to get any response from the owner Brett Tabke to have the money refunded. Buyer Beware!

You can cancel a subscription from within your paypal account at any time.

Whether its worth it or not I don't know. Personally I'd rather stick around and
