  when do links show up

Ive decided to have a bash at SEO but have a quick few questions.

ive been busy building up links over the past few months. Have managed to get a fair few PR4 links from relevant websites. some by offering a reciprical link.

my question is, generally how long does it take for these to show up on google? when will my websites PR be changed? It is still showing as 0 at the moment.

I can already see they are having an effect in that Googlebot is visiting the site more frequently and exploring further.

cheers

chris

Barry seems to know their stuff
Its hard to say really, but I must admit its been over a month since the last PR update so I would expect one soon. Especially after the little jiggle thats happened in my traffic and rankings over the last week or so.

Good luck anyway - I hope your first PR is a nice high one

Hi Chris,

I've read here (and in other places) that google may have already assigned your site a PR rating and a link count. It's just that you don't know what it is until they do their updates.

MSN seems to be a lot quicker at showing your links than Google is at the moment.

Try searching for link:www.yoursite.co.uk in google and MSN and you should see what I mean.

Hope this makes sense

Brett

Some SEO experts are suggesting that Google is applying an aging filter to new links, in an attempt to cut down on artifical or purchased links.

Google will only show a proportion of your links at an time. Just because they don't show they them don't think they wont apply.
Just one of those annoying things google does!

Cheers
Aly
