i dont think this news will affect affiliate income or has any direct or indirect affect on affiliate marketing

I often have a go at Google but fair play to them. This is entirely consistent with their "do no evil" ethos. Google v Government, an interesting battle if ever I saw one.

It damn well will do if the US Gov gets its way. If everything you do online is subject to scrutiny without so much as a court order by the US authorities, I think that would put a big dent in consumer confidence in the online model. If they leave online for any reason, they won't be clicking your links, or anyone elses for that matter

US government says they want to check child porno, but use the methods that will not give them the picture of this problem. On the other hand, business persons who have 'nice connection' to US gov will have a nice pile of info to monetize.

Child porno will never stop until there are guys in the tops of the government who adore it.
