  Buying Placement

Does anyone have any experience on buying page one placement on google? My site has dropped from page one to page two (orgainic placement) and I'm really feeling the effects. There are lots of companies claiming that they will put you on page one of google and keep you there for a fee,. I must say that I'm rather dubious, but then I do wonder if any of the other sites that are consistenly on the first page of google pay for this privilage? I'd be interested to hear your comments.

No need to pay anyone else.

If your talking about the site in your signature just spend a little time and money on building some more links to your site.

Thanks, Ash. I will work on building more links. But what if I created a brand new site - do you think that it would be worth paying a company for page one google placement, and more so, will they really be able to do this for me?

I would'nt trust anyone that promises any positioning in organic search results.

Thanks, Ash, that's what I thought. I keep getting messages everyday with promises that sound too good to be true.

Hi Jaykay, companies that promise this kind of result are the last ones you should consider!!!

As with other area's in life, if you haven't the time to do the seo yourself, I would be inclined to go on others recommendation - if someone has had success with a firm and the firm can back it up with several similar testimonials, at least you know they have the knowledge to get you there!

I'd qualify that:

I would'nt trust anyone that promises any positioning in organic search results without looking at your site!

I'm not touting for business as I'm already up to my eyeballs, but often if you conduct a thorough review and can highlight issues that are causing the drop and they're resolvable I'd have no problem saying to a potential client "we've found out what's causing the problem, given your current systems and architecture we can fix it and, all things being equal, we can get you back to first page"

You need to differentiate between the people/agencies that are totally confident in their abilities & have the experience & testimonials that go with it against those out there that will say and do anything to get a new client.

You can fool some of the people ....

SEO would be your best option for the long run. However, should you fail to see any relevant results from your SEO efforts, you should also be open for alternatives. Either advertise more or outsource your SEO.
