Re: Google Organic Traffic Gone Thru Floor. Any Ideas?

I've just noticed that my Google rankings on my cashback site have also gone through the floor in the last week! They were doing ok, but suddenly have been slapped by up to 60 places in some cases. Ironically, in Yahoo, they have all gone up, so I'm a bit confused.

This isn't like the recent Google shuffle where my pages vanished completely & then returned, but a definite drop Have drops in traffic for others coincided with big SERPS drops, or just from disappearing & has anyone else had these sudden plummets in SERPS recently, or is it probably something I've done?

I have some ideas re recent directory links &/or too many keyword links from my blog, but it's annoying that what works for Yahoo, seems to be penalised in Google, when Google is the one that really matters Trust me to go the wrong way lol.

I'm going to start removing some of the links from my blog, in case Google is treating it as spamming (site wide links) - is this the -60 penalty that is rumoured to exist?!!!

This happens from time to time..give it a few days. But you might want to consider "acquiring" some powerful inbound link campaigns as part of your overall strategy if it isnt...my opinion.

Re: Google Organic Traffic Gone Thru Floor. Any Ideas?

We have a new site, launched 2 months ago - it was just starting to climb up the rankings, and then over the last week, the homepage disappeared from Googles index, then reappeared late yesterday, but so far, all the search terms which were climbing, have nosedived into the late hundreds!!!

Not sure if its a Google play around, the fact its a new site or something else - but is sounds like a lot of people are experiencing the same thing!!!

I think the best advice is to carry in regardless - new content, new links and some more new content!

Re: Google Organic Traffic Gone Thru Floor. Any Ideas?

Yup, absolutely.

about a third of my traffic has come back. Bizarrely, it's all new traffic for search terms I'd never ranked for before... and I can't find the pages in the SERPS but I'm getting the traffic nevertheless?!

Onwards and upwards, it's the only way!

not totally relevant to this post, but is there a tool to see a list of where you are ranked for what search terms? saving me having to search google and go through each page?

Hiya,

I tend to use IBP & occasionally Web CEO (which has a free edition). Both these have rankings checkers. I have read divided opinions about using automated checkers, but the programs themselves assure me that they cannot harm my sites ranking or be tracked to a particular website so........?

I'd be interested to know if anyone uses anything else?

If you want to check your own keyword lists - try this free one - Rank Checker - the video gives you a quick overview.

For a novel approach, try this one - SeoDigger.com - register for a free account to be able to check all pages from a domain. This one is really good fun for looking at other people's rankings!!!

Re: Google Organic Traffic Gone Thru Floor. Any Ideas?

It's strange, my Google rankings are still falling & in fact Yahoo is also now taking a hit; my competitors aren't dropping, so I must've done something wrong here

But & it's a big but, my overall traffic has stayed constant & in fact has risen since this big drop, although Google organic traffic HAS dropped by about 25%. I'm pretty confused by all this as I don't have currently have any PPC campaigns running on the site & wonder what's going on!!!

Think I need to get an SEO expert to give it the once over and see what they can find out

My site has also been hit and my main keyword has totally dropped. Really bad timing as just spent ages getting my conversions higher and hoped to have a record month.

In my aim to come back, im making my site fully w3c valid and also reducing file size. Then im going to get some new good inbound links and hope i pop back up.
