Just got this windy press release (in my capacity as an influential dotcom journalist millionaire as opposed to my capacity as a dotcom affiliate millionaire playboy) about a new network -- www.AffiliateFuture.co.uk
Have had a quick poke round and it looks quite slick. Only half a dozen merchants at the mo, and it looks like the company that runs (owns?) the merchants also runs the network. Be interesting to see what third-party sites get involved.
Cheers,
Richard
Internet Business Group Launches AffiliateFuture.co.uk
· UK’s first Affiliate Network aimed at Small businesses
London, 21st February 2002 – Internet Business Group announces today the launch of AffiliateFuture.co.uk, a brand new affiliate network that will be primarily targeting UK based small and medium businesses. The service launches with 6 merchants on board, and intends to recruit many more over the next few months.
“Affiliate networks are a proven method of increasing revenues for both merchants and site owners (affiliates).” comments Maziar Darvish, CEO of Internet Business Group. “Although there are other affiliate networks operating in the UK none of them are specifically aimed the at the SME market.”
Affiliate Future will offer a sophisticated service, but only charge a monthly service fee of £75, with a commission surcharge of 20%. Merchants will not have to pay any set-up costs for the first 6 months. Merchants and affiliates will have complete control over their accounts online, and be able to join schemes, receive full reporting and upload or change advertising media.
“E-commerce in the UK is slowly becoming a success story. There are many small businesses that are flourishing by being able to reach wider markets” continues Darvish “but their greatest struggle has been to reach the right target audience. I believe that Affiliate Future will provide a vehicle for these industries to grow, offering an affordable way to expand their business. The network will also be advantageous for thousands of small or large content publishers in the UK. They will be able to generate revenue by providing their readers with links to relevant merchants”.
AffiliateFuture.co.uk offers other benefits too: the tracking mechanisms for affiliates is set up in such a way that once it has been entered, affiliates can add, remove or change banners and buttons without having to alter the code. New programmes can be added or removed through the tools on the web site. This will greatly reduce costs for those who do not have an in-house web master, and who have to pay someone to make any changes to their site.
AffiliateFuture.co.uk launches today with 6 Merchants on board: Sweatband.com, SimplyPicnic.co.uk, GadgetHub.co.uk, MDS Battery (www.mdsbattery.co.uk), IBG Hosting (www.ibghosting.co.uk) and Learningstore.co.uk. These merchant partners have been involved in the initial testing and trial of the new network along with approximately one hundred affiliates.
Mike Field, founder of MDS Battery, commented: “My business relies on distress purchases, and it is not always easy to target the customer at the right moment in time, when the crisis hits. Affiliate Future will allow me to gain exposure for my business to a wide range of customers, and yet only pay for results. This makes it a sustainable way of attracting new business in the long term, and is beneficial for content web sites, as they can boost their revenues.”
