    Clarke,

Briefly, explain whether we as Emporio Lingerie would benefit from joining you as well as DGM? Or are we not your target merchant?

Hi Ben, I would rather not compare services as everyone will have plus points going for it. What I will do is make another post later on highlighting some of what Paid on Results has to offer merchants and you can make your mind up from that. It might very well be we offer nothing new or of use for you at this time.

Our target merchants are companies we can work with so they, the affiliates and we make more money. This kind of business really should not be a hard sell, everyone wants to make money online just getting the right people together.

If you had a bricks and mortar shop you wouldn't just open up in one city, so why do it online. The Ink Factory is an example of someone who has used different approaches at different networks and from what I hear they are doing ok.

Clarke: I love you to bits, but you will need to supply merchants with details of how you differentiate from other networks. This will be the question on every merchants lips and you will need to have a zippy answer.
We live in a world of comparison do we not?
Clarke you should be jumping and shouting loudly about POR, You are an ASP with the potential to be out and up there, what an acheivment! Get PR'ing now! I know that you work closely with your merchants, how great is that! You also have the added advantage of seeing things from all sides of the fence.

What a great place to start! Start shmooozing and woooing, lol (don't ever remind me I said this) But POR has way too much going for it, there is a little prostitute in us all!

Ben: Paidonresults.... are different in the fact that they are still developing the network. In most cases this is the best time to join as they still have time to work with you on a 1-1. They do not promise the earth the stars and the moon, it's what you see is what you get.

One of the things I feel that will set us a part is that I believe for any program to be a success you have to find and develop the correct affiliate partners for merchants (and vice versa) as I don’t believe for 2 seconds that every network has a ready tap of the “right” affiliates for every program.

I have been lucky in that most of the big names in affiliates have already shown their support in the network, it’s up to me to pick the correct merchant partners that have the same respect for the affiliates, and believe me we have rejected over 70+ merchants so far that are just looking for a free ride and have no interest whatsoever in affiliate marketing.

<em><strong>> We live in a world of comparison do we not?</strong></em>

We sure do, however I don’t believe in making bold claims that don’t have any foundation in realty, 50,000 affiliates doesn’t = 50,000 active ones. It only serves to disappoint people and make them think affiliate marketing doesn’t work.

I often find it funny that merchants ask, “How many affiliates do you have?” when what they should be asking is “What will you do to get affiliates to promote my products/services?”

If your working on a results based model, then it’s very important for us to select our clients with care and only pick ones we feel we can make more money for and in turn make more money for the Affiliates and of course ourselves. For existing merchants that will come in the form of bringing on new affiliates that will promote them or introducing new technical elements that will allow current affiliates to convert better.

<em><strong>> Clarke you should be jumping and shouting loudly about POR, You are an ASP with the potential to be out and up there, what an acheivment!</strong></em>

Thanks, I would rather grow at a steady pace and provide the same level of service to each client than to rush head long in and have hundreds of clients and find a number of them get very disappointed because they have no affiliates that make them any sales.

Paid On Results is based on one very important principal, if we can’t make you money, we don’t make money. You should see how upset some Merchants get when we tell them they are not right for our network and that includes people that have programs already.

<em><strong>> Get PR'ing now! I know that you work closely with your merchants, how great is that! You also have the added advantage of seeing things from all sides of the fence.</strong></em>

Yeap I sure do, I don’t know everything but I do hope that I have gained a balanced view having seen it from each side and heck I have even been involved in the US side for 4 years as both affiliate and affiliate manager, that was an interesting challenge dealing with US affiliates who expect sales to fall from the sky without ever actually doing any work .

One of the things I do provide for free, is to check over merchants sites and offer advice with regards to any changes they could make to be more affiliate friendly. Not everything can be done overnight, but already seeing positive changes being carried out by merchants that are about to join. It’s striking a balance, just because doing something means it’s better for affiliates doesn’t always mean it’s a positive change for the better for the merchant.

<em><strong>> What a great place to start! Start shmooozing and woooing, lol (don't ever remind me I said this) But POR has way too much going for it, there is a little prostitute in us all!</strong></em>

Shmooozing is something I’m not very good at. I will however be happy to present what I have to offer, to the right type of merchant. It’s a fundamentally very basic principle. We work on results; if we don’t get you results then it will have cost you next to nothing to find that out. I don’t believe in a hard sale, what’s hard about what we offer, if you can’t see that I just move on to someone who can see the potential, I don’t have much time for time wasters as they will be the ones that in the long term will waste affiliates time also.

<em><strong>> Ben: Paidonresults.... are different in the fact that they are still developing the network.</strong></em>

Development should never stop, if affiliate or merchant has a good idea that will benefit everyone, then I see no reason why we shouldn’t do it. It might only take a few days to get in place or it might take a few months, if it’s good we will listen and act on it.

<em><strong>> In most cases this is the best time to join as they still have time to work with you on a 1-1. They do not promise the earth the stars and the moon, it's what you see is what you get.</strong></em>

I really hope all times are the best times. I have a set vision on how I see it going, and other people have invested in this. It’s up to me to keep things on course but equally without the business experience and the design and programming skills that others bring to the network it would not be half as good.

We have a number of merchants (many familiar faces around these parts starting this month and next) any luck they will have positive stories to share with other merchants in coming months.
