Freebieholics Affiliate Program Changes.

During August we made several changes to the Freebieholics site, and to the affiliate program. Laid out below are those changes.

1. The childrens section was not getting the attention it needed to deserve the update time. We have removed the dedicated section, and moved all child related content in to the main freebie section. No content has been entirely removed.

If you were deep-linking to this section, your customers will now be 301/302 redirected to the main freebie menu. (where they can now see the new kids categories)

2. 4 of the most popular free games have been moved in to the members section. This means the most popular 8 games are now only available to members. This is highly visible on the free games page.

If you were deplinking to these pages, your customers will now be redirrected to the log-in in page. Because of the way our site works, we cannot use redirects on these pages, so we will be adding a subscription form to the log-in page.

3. The members section has been rebuilt. This doesn't affect affiliates as much as by the time your visitor see's the changes, you've been paid. However, it is now much easier to use, and everything is available in less clicks.

4. The free key ring promotion we offer has changed. We used to give any member who asked, a free key ring, and free postage - after 90 days of membership. We now ask for an SAE. We will be removing the 90 day lag, so all new members can get the keyring immediately, but this will take 90 days to implement fully.

For those of you that have mentioned the free key ring to your members, the software has marked all members that joined until midnight last night. They will all be offered their keyring without sending an SAE when the time comes. This change will only affect members joining September onwards. We don't feel that any links or creatives we have supplied need changing, but you may want to review any text you've written yourselves.

5. The changes to the key ring offer saves us a few pennies per member. We've shared the saving with our affiliates.

As of this morning your commission rates went up. The new rates are as follows:

Normal Tier: 1-50 at 35p then 50+ at 45p
That's 5p extra per lead for all leads up to the 50th, and 10p extra for all leads after the 50th.

We have a higher tier for those consistantly producing leads in volume.

High Tier: 1-50 at 40p then 50+ at 50p
Again, that's 5p per lead extra up to the 50th, and 10p per lead extra for all leads after the 50th.

These are permanent changes - or at least until we work out how to give affiliates more :O)
