  new product feeds and content units for Natural Instinct and Gadget storm

Hi,

We've been working very hard on our new content section for both of our shops and i've now put it live....

http://www.retailcreations.co.uk/content

Product feeds

You can now download standardised product feeds live from our site with your affilaite ID inserted whenever you want, in CSV or excel formats.

Content Units

You can now include gadget storm content on your site by placing a small piece of javascript in your html. your affiliate links are already in place and you never have to update it (a bit like google adsense). An example is shown below with gadget storm branding.

You can choose to turn the Gadget Storm branding on or off

PS - big thankyou to Rich Danby for helping with the CSV conversion

Looks very comprehensive - nice job

One thing Im still struggling with though is how I can get my server to grab the csvs as when I complete the form I get a generic url for the feed so it seems like Id need to complete the form every time I want it.

Nice one.

Could the content unit be set to open into a new window though please?

Or could you tell me what code to add to my own code I've picked up - I'm not too good at javascript.

Is there a content unit for Natural Instinct, I'm even more hopeless at product feeds, the loafer in me loves these copy and paste content units though!

Many thanks.

999gi,

This is the basic url to fetch the CSVs: -

retailcreations.co.uk/content/gsfeed.php?PORID=1&website=28&feedtype=csv
&cats=comma_seperated&cols=productid|productname|shortdesc|longdesc|
price|URL|smallthumb|largethumb|image|largeimage|
variation|parentID|commission|category|

(sorry about all the line breaks, it was the only way to get the forum not to chop it up. Add www. to the start)

PORID= your Paid-on-Results ID
website= 28 - Gadget Storm, 1- Natural Instinct
cats = comma_seperated, separate_rows or extra_columns
cols = what colums you want in the feed, the above includes all of them, so just remove any you don't want, just leave on the last |

I don't think Jon will mind me posting this, I got it by turning off automatic redirects in opera and then you get to see what url the form is redirecting you to.

Anthony - Rich seems to have answered your question for me, i'll put instructions up on the site soon though as I had no idea people would want to be able to do this.

BornToLoaf - I'll have a look into the opening in new windows thing, i'll either set it to that as standard or give another option so you can switch it on or off.

This looks great - one very minor comment: Could you change the Http:// (uppercase H) to http:// for the image URLs?

Cheers,
Darren.

Excellent! Now can you arrange for all my sites to have a PageRank of at least nine on every page!

Regards,
Darren.

Hi,

Our hosting company insist the servers are working correctly but I cannot see the sites from here eiher so they're currently looking into whether it's a dns/routing issue rather than the server itself. Apparently lots of people still can get onto the website.

I will keep everyone informed.

Also, even though this appears not to be the hosting companies fault, they have been quite unreliable recently so yesterday I signed a contract with a new hosting company who offer a better service level agreement and uptime guarantees and will be moving the sites over ASAP as we can't afford to have them going down in early december
