    Hi,

Just to let you know that our first product data feed in CSV format is now available at http://www.boneclothing.com/..../pages.php?pageid=171

As it's our first data feed please let me know should anyone have suggestions as to it's future content etc. Would an XML format be useful as well?

*Edit* new fields are as follows

productid, product_title, brand, gender, category, price, description, page_URL, small_imageURL, large_imageURL, merchant

    *End Edit*

The feed is likely to be refreshed frequently due to the products changing regularly. I trust this is ok

    Cheers

    AJ

    AJ,

Any chance of adding the category?

Also the large image might be better than the small one - then we can resize it down rather than having to enlarge a small image.

    Hi Ian,

When you say the category do you mean what brand the product falls under or how it's laid out on the site, i.e.

    Brand/mens/jeans/product x

sorry to ask this but the actual category is a number allocated when the "department" for each brand is set up. Products are also cross referenced to enable customers to search in different ways so they can have more than a single category number assigned.

The small images are nearly all 150 x 150, in fact I think there are only a handful which are not, large images are 400 x 400. Is it beneficial to include both in the feed?

If you need the further info I should be able to complete a fresh data feed by tomorrow......I hope

    Cheers

I expect Ian means item type (trousers, shirts etc)

A decent clothing feed should have the following "categories" where applicable
    - item type
    - brand
    - gender

what you suggest in having it as one field with all the data seperated with "/" will also be fine for most people

    Right. Thanks for that.

I shall have another look at the data and see what needs to be done for a more comprehensive feed as you suggest.

    Many thanks for the advice

Should have made myself clearer, I did mean the type as in tops, shoes etc and the gender would be good as well.

With the images, some affiliates will want a small image and some a large, so adding both to the feed would probably be best. Then we can pick the ones we want.

    Ok.

I've just finished a new data feed with the following fields

productid, product_title, brand, gender, category, price, description, page_URL, small_imageURL, large_imageURL, merchant

You can get it here Updated Feed

Not every single product has a larger image but it's only a few.

I hope this is more comprehensive and of more use to everyone. Let me know if this is better

    Cheers

Thanks for all the feedback on this! I'm glad the new data feed is an improvement.

If anyone has any further requirements please feel free to ask and I'll try my best to sort it.
