Who are we and how we work?
Freemans.com is one of the leaders in the U.K for the catalogue market. Selling Electrical, Fashion, Furniture, Gadgets, Gifts, Garden and Home Interior products.

Our business model is to acquire and retain new customers that want to shop online but want to be able to spread their costs over a number of months. A good example would be an expectant mother, a wedding and right down to getting that luxury designer bag. For men its got to be those boys toys and men's designer clothing brands. Our customers can do this using our credit payment method. Minimum credit starts at £200.00 and can increase to £1000.00 upwards in a short period of time. Credit can vary based on many factors and we use a credit scoring system, how ever, it should be noted that some first time customers maybe rejected which is about one in three. Once the new customer has been accepted he/she is free to shop. The turn around from registration to credit acceptance or decline takes 24 hrs. We offer free returns and have many marketing incentives to keep our customers coming back.

We are members of the GPWA and are in the top ten of Hitwise.

Delivery
Goods will usually be delivered within 3 to 4 working days, for big items, customers will be advised a delivery date.

Next Day Delivery online, where available, on orders placed before 5 pm
Order Monday to Friday before 5pm, the goods will arrive next day.
Order anytime on Saturday or up to 2pm on Sunday the goods will arrive on Monday. Cost will be confirmed before confirming your order. This does not apply to first time orders.

All new customers must receive their first order to their home address for security reasons.

FAQS click here

Open to UK residents only and must be over eighteen with a valid credit card.

Demographics
Predominantly female, (although according to NMA 13/08/04
72% of all online users (22m people) now either shop or bank online. Men shop online more than women: 35% of men made 11 or more purchases compared to 27% of women). Age 20 + and working. Our customer is fashion focused.
Three quarters of our customers have internet access.

The Program

How the process works from affiliate referral to commission. A new customer is referred by you via an affiliate link on your website. The visitor is usually enticed by a product or special promotion. He/she will add a product to their basket, at this point they will be asked to register, and also at this point the affiliate referrer is tagged to the potential new customer. If they pass the credit scoring process, the product is flagged as bought. We then allocate the commission to the affiliate referrer. When the new customer comes back and shops again and again, you will receive commission for those repeat sales for a period of 365

We are able to offer all affiliates, industry sized banners and product feeds in addition to this we will offer our top 40 best selling products and we aim to incorporate dynamic content links.

Commission
We offer 10% on all our fashion categories and 5% on everything else, this includes interiors, electrical, DIY & Outdoors. We pay commissions only when the new customer has passed their credit rating, there is a reporting delay of only 24 hrs, in other words, we upload a batch report minimum twice a week, excluding weekends. On all repeat orders the same method applies, in other words there will be a delay of 24 hrs before you see the transactions in your affiliate account, excluding weekends.

On the cards, Freemans will soon be rolling out a pay and go method of shopping in addition to the way that they work now. This means that your visitor will not have to sign up and go through the credit scoring process, they can simply shop, pay and go. Our Job is to get them coming back to the site through various marketing strategies, including the spreading of costs method.

How do we structure our commissions?
Affiliate marketing is about paying on performance, if we include a pay per lead program, the commissions on repeat sales will have to be a lot lower or may be non existent. We feel that there would be more incentive for you by paying commissions on successful applicants and their repeat sales, rather then just a flat rate, this would not be a good business model for either you or Freemans.com.

No commission claw backs!
In designing this program, we don't have to claw back commissions from you when products are returned, yes you did read that correctly, no claw backs!

Minimising commission leakage
We have created a special Freemans.com landing pages without a phone numbers, this should minimise affiliate commission leakage.

Dedicated Affiliate Manager
We at Freemans.com understand affiliate marketing and how important it is to have someone developing new and existing relationships. Our affiliate manager will be able to answer any queries you have, from simple questions about linking to advice on how to maximise your commissions. Its team work that gets results.

If in doubt about anything, just ask.

For all strategic partnerships please use the email address below.
Freemans.com dedicated affiliate manager, until further notice, is Jessica Luthi, Jessica.Luthi at(@) otto-uk.com

We ask affiliates to please refrain from bidding on the name Freemans.com or any other misspelling unless given express permission in writing to do so. We are working at this time with some affiliates that already have a proven track record of PPC, this does not mean to say that you will never have chance, if you have a proven track record please email us.

Cheers purple :0), I am sure the programs will do well!

Today is a real turning point for Otto UK whose brands include Kaleidoscope.co.uk, Freemans.com, Grattan.co.uk, montage.co.uk & LookAgain.co.uk

Today we see the launch of three affiliate programs namely Kaleidoscope, Freemans & Grattan. The e-commerce team, Chris Poad, John Veichmanis and Aarti Patel and many others have real understanding about affiliate marketing which is seldom found with some of the big corporate giants. Their commitment to their affiliate programs gives us all real hope that affiliate marketing has turned the corner and is recognised as a powerful revenue generating machine.

The programs were designed to be lucrative to not only the affiliates but to the brands as well. We designed the programs to be unique and innovative and affiliate friendly. We could not have done this without the assistance of one of the most influential and innovative networks in the UK, PaidOnResults.com and whose staff have been flexible, patient and all round super stars. We could not have launched our programs with out the OttoUK Groups, technical team either!

In the world of corporate red tape, Otto UK is proof that corporate does not have to mean slow or is just reactive rather then proactive or restrictive. Ecommerce is alive and well and will thrive at Otto whilst the likes of Aarti, John and Chris are in charge.

    Hey Jess,

You can tell instantly from the first post outlining the program just exactly how affiliate friendly and focussed the new programs are. Also, all those lovely demographics will certainly help affiliates when approaching the market and tailoring their own traffic towards the program.

    Great stuff and good luck.

    Paul.
