The Next Generation of Content Units
Paid On Results are delighted to be able to preview to you the next generation of Content Units. Until now Content Units available to Affiliates have been limited to a small selection of products, and offered nothing more than a small product listings. Using features similar to those in the latest Web 2.0 applications our new Content Units are dynamic, and offer the possibility for unlimited products to be displayed on the Affiliate sites, using a variety of selection methods, but still maintaining the ease of use of traditional Content Units.
We will be making these new Advanced Content Units available for Affiliates to use within the next week or so, and will be demonstrating a small selection over the coming days. We are also making Advanced Content Units more accessible by making them available in a set of widths, which are 120px, 200px, 300px, 400px, 468px, 600px pixels. The height depends on number of products, which can be configured in most cases.
When the visitor selects a brand or gender, the products update on the Affiliates site, the only time they leave the page is when they find a product they want.
These Advanced Content Units have been designed and development in-house, and we have created them for a number of our Merchants at no cost to them - any Merchants not already on Paid On Results who like what they see, please PM me to discuss.
The first Advanced Content Unit preview is from BeCheeky.com, it allows the visitor to select and view products of different brand names, while also allowing the gender selection visitors wish to see, viewers also get a larger image preview when they roll over the image. Other previews will follow in the coming days.

LOL yeah I was forced to click on every brand, check rollovers, test jumping from female to male.. It was hard goingOriginally Posted by Rich
No comment on Graeme’s views for coding and debugging this one LOL
We actually have a range of different merchants all based off the same system, some do things others don't, in fact I will post a bit later with a list of bullet points regarding this one, that may not be obvious on just looking at it.

Well, as much as we all want to make nice things it is important that they work for everyone.
Dropdown selector does not work in opera, in fact none of the links work.
Image display have dropdown menu showing through the image when in certain positions which means you cant really see the nice breasts at times.
Hope that helps, will look forward to what it does in ie7![]()
Nothing to see here...
Thanks for your comments; we will test it on Opera before going live. We did however test it on IE6, IE7 (PRC version) and Firefox both old and new versions and it works fine, but this is the time to point out any bugs before going fully live and apart from showing them off is also the reason why we put them in front of the people who will use them before they are live so we get great feedback like thatOriginally Posted by pricethat

We will look into that, it has been tested on versions of IE (including version 7), Firefox and browsers on Mac fine.
There is nothing we can do about that - your find when you layer anything top of a drop down the drop down will show though whatever z-index you give it, we tried to make it so the image roll over doesn't cause scroll bars so it works out if it should preview up or down, so sometimes it will go over the drop down but it depends on the image size and of course the Content Unit design, after all they won't be all the time.

Oh goody goody, i get to report all the bugsNice job anyway, i am sure it will help a lot of affiliates with content.
Soooo, anyway i wouldnt worry about opera so much, its only geeky idiots that dont buy anything like me that use it anyway.

Nothing works in Opera! To clarify that, I don't mean the content unit is broken, I mean Opera is so broken that it's very hard to get it to do anything well. When I made my next gen content unit (I didn't even know it was next gen till nowsee sig) about half the time was spent changing bits just to not break in Opera. It still dosn't work as well as in other browsers.
As Graeme said, form elements over images is a bug with no solution, but it does seem to only affect IE6 and is fixed in IE7. BTW both IE7 and FF2 are released now.
Unfortunately I can't find any bugs but you know I tried my best to break it![]()

- Content unit knows if a brand is not available in Male or Female, and alerts user and auto defaults to top selling products for gender they selected.
- Multi Product shots can be used if supported in the Merchants Feed.
- If sales rank is provided, top selling products are displayed first.
- Content Units update as the feed updates, so no work on keeping them fresh by Affiliate or Merchant.
- You can default to show the male or female products on 1st load or you can even pick what brand to show first, so you can for example have different products shown on different pages all coming from the same content unit, handy for say Electrical Retailers where your page might be about washing machines so you don’t want MP3 players showing 1st.
- Available as JavaScript or script integration (such as PHP, Perl, etc.). The script integration will mean that the 1st page of content will be crawl able via search engine spiders.
- You can add in tracking ids to the content units so they can be used on sites such as cash back sites where you need to track what user click what and then purchased a product.
