There are a lot of posts about this issue today at webmasterworld and the adwords support forum. Most people think it's a bug. But there has not yet been official confirmation from Google about what is going on.
It seems my quality scores across all campaigns have plummeted overnight. All previous 7/10 or 10/10 scores now sit at 3/10 4/10 and some 5/10, and the first page bid has rocketed.
Any change to QS downwards gives me the shivers, but the strange thing is all the ads are still showing in the same position as they were yeasterday - normally a 3/10 wouldn't be showing at all.
Anyone seen a change? Anyone NOT seen a change?

Most people are reporting that the lower QS is not changing their SERP positioning. Once again, no official confirmation so far...
My account manager at Google says they're aware of the issue and working on it. And yes it looks like it might just be an interface issue and it's not effecting your PPC listings.
It was a bit worrying this morning though :-S
yes I can confirm I just received confirmation from my adwords rep it's a bug as well. I'm now busy vacuuming all the hair from the floor that fell out this morning when I saw what appeared to be a humungous quality score slap on my account. Thank goodness it wasn't. We can rest easy people.
Thanks for the confirmations - huge relief.
Interesting to know if anyone wasn't affected.. I'd have thought hundreds / thousands would have been shouting from the hills rather than the 20 or 30 on the google forum and webmasterworld.
Interesting as some keywords have retained their 10/10 but others dropped from 7 or 8/10 to 3 4/10!!
Just added by Google
Known Issue: Drop in Quality Score for high performing keywords around 24th/25th October
