Can anyone give a rough idea of how many life insurance leads could be generated on google per day if you were in an average position on page one for numerous keywords.

Theres no way of knowing this without trying. But for a very rough estimate for the term "life insurance" and presuming this is for PPC and not organic as you have posted in this thread,

    Monthly search volume: 368,000 approx
    Daily search volume: 12,000 approx

Assumming your ad gets around 1,000 impressions and its click through rate is say 4% (forget ad position, CTR is important).

Thats 40 visits your paying for each day. Assume a 10% conversion to a lead. Thats 4 leads per day.

Duplicate for other keywords. As different keywords statistics vary so much you will have to duplicate this kind of estimate.

If you paid £1 per click and you get £20 per lead, that's:

    Spend - £40
    Turnover - £80
    Profit - £40

    ROI = 100%

Not bad! This is ofcourse not including lead rejections/duplicates, etc.

    Best of luck!

    Steven

Nice try, but the real answer is that there are too many variables to make an accurate assumption.

Ad wording, including a crisp, well worded usp, can make all the difference. And once you have captured the click, there's then the question of how well your site converts the visitor.

In another similar market I have seen two almost identical sites convert at hugely differing levels. The difference? One was mainly blue and had a beautiful professional image, the other was black text on a yellow background and looked like it had been knocked up by a kid one afternoon.

The amazing thing is, it was the site that most would consider to be rubbish (the yellow one) that converted the best! The yellow one pulled 1 in 6 visitors into applicants, the blue one 1 in 13.

So the things to concentrate on are, in no particular order as they are all vital..

Punchy, attention grabbing ads with a genuinely UNIQUE selling point (hint - cheap insurance is NOT one)
Split test ad and site copy - don't assume that a good looking professional site will convert best, test it with real data and prove it with facts, not your opinions.
Make sure that the site sells. In the words of one of my favourite colleagues, a site should say "buy/apply or F**k off" - you are not running a library or public information service.
Have the form on the home page, above the fold, with maybe three or four benefits bullet pointed next to it. If you want to add more info, testimonials, etc. do so below the fold, where most people won't bother to look anyway.

    Hope that helps.

Haha that is so true its a shame we can't say "buy/apply or give me my CPC expense back and F**k off".

Great tips there Michael and it's so true the only way to know is to try it and split test everything to see what converts the best.

Life insurance leads on google, how anyone can count it, even on average. I think even Google cannot answer you.
