I run a number of sites in the printer supplies business – albums, paper, graphics software etc – OPUSalbums.com , u-printit.co.uk, photo4.biz and printalot.org
Pay-per-click has its uses. When introducing something or making changes and wanting to test its effect on a volume of traffic it often fulfils a need. However for the most part PPC is a waste of time and more importantly a waste of money. I was paying £130 a month for 120 clicks a day – hardly any of them buyers.

I was going to can PPC completely then came up with a really good way of using Google Adwords to enforce my sales message – and help secure conversions from Google searches. I reduced costs by 80% and increased conversions by 20%. Perhaps it's the keyword targeting that needs attention.. Google doesn't earn billions of dollars per year from advertising that's a "waste of money"

if hardly any are buying then you need to optimise the keywords and choose less generic keywords with more buyer intent and optimise the landing pages to convert as many of those into buyers as possible.

the site OPUSalbums - digital photo albums, digital photo paper, digital photo software is a wall of text with very little call to action
