Okay, I am slowly getting this Adwords strategy. I always knew how it worked but I simply didnt form a plan as my main form of advertising is through SEO. Now I plan to use both SEO and PPC together to maximise any niche sites I create.

My first stab at it is going pretty good, 5 campaigns targeted to 5 different landing pages on the same website. I know a lot of people say it is about ROI (which of course, it is), but I am one of those who relishes outdoing the likes of Google and getting my clicks dirt cheap, even if it is shaving 1-2p off per click. I would generally say that is how most people work PPC to be honest.

I have managed to maintain a first page position for my 2 main keywords, both of which are 6p and 8p per click. I started off at 15p yesterday and managed to get halfway up the first page, I think about 5th-6th position. Gradually over last night and today I have been shaving off 1p -2p per click and still notice I am first page.

I have noticed however that sometimes my ad doesnt show, but I am hoping this picks up because all of my keywords are 10/10 for quality score and I get a pretty decent CTR%, between 2% - 11% for my keywords.

My question however is this, how far would one go before you know you have found the balance at what your keyword cost is? I know many aim for 2p per click and maintain first page, should that be what I am aiming for?

Is it possible to get top 3 position for 2p-3p per click if everything about your website is good? The quality score at 10/10, quick loading time, SEO, external links, blah, blah. So far everything is running smooth, but I would imagine the PPC is pretty much like the SEO side of Google in that you should always expect the unexpected?

I'm not sure if I am doing this right, am I reducing bids too fast and will Google slap my ads? I am generating leads to amazon ads for certain niches, will Google Adwords pick up on that, do they allow it?

In general, I am starting my bids at about 15p and reducing quickly, this is because I cannot track Amazon in real-time, which is a pain in the butt. Therefore I cannot find out until the next update wether my ads are converting and my ROI is good.

Can anyone please advise, am I on the right track?

    Thank you
    Terry

It's a long question which I can't answer fully, but I'd say focus on your Quality Score by having relevant landing pages and make sure your ad text is optimised for conversion by focusing on the final stages of the buying process.
