I've got a £50 voucher, which I'd quite like to use on Adwords just to test some things out...or at least just waste it on getting some clicks

I've already got an account, which I've had for more than 14 days.

Is it a problem having another adwords account? Has anyone done it?

I know I'd have to pay that £5 again, I don't mind that

No problem having more than one account, in fact you can link them together through the MCC account.

BUT using multiple Adwords vouchers on new accounts when you've already got one are a risk. You can get banned from Adwords (alll your accounts) and it is very, very hard to try get back in.

And google are very, very good at linking accounts based on IP, credit cards, address, etc.

    I wouldn't risk it.

You can have more than one account as long as the two accounts don't serve multiple ads for the same related keyword/url simultaneously.

With regard to the vouchers I imagine Google don't like people using more than one.

As Kyle said, Google are very good at linking accounts.
