Totally random thread but i've been working on a blog for the past 4 months now in preparation for a product due to be launched soon, with the intention of gaining good quality seo traffic so that when the time comes, i can make substaintial commissions from my affiliate links.

I'm now receiving quite a few thousand unique visits each day (all organic), with hundreds signed up to the RSS feed which i only launched 3 weeks ago.

I'd been speaking to another forum member about how fast the pages were being indexed in google, so thought with my latest post i'd put it to the test. 23 seconds was all it took to appear indexed for both the index page, and the specific blog page, i'm absolutely amazed.

It just goes to show, if you put some time into a new product that you have an interest in and knowledge of, you can build a good site which (hopefully) will do well AM-wise.

(PS - I won't be posting the site on here, as i'm hoping its AM GOLD )

It's pretty staggering how fast it goes these days, I see my blog posts go in real quick (but I've never timed it) and the other week I'd bought a domain and put a site up and had it indexed in Google within 48 hours of the domain first being purchased. Gone are the days when you had to wait months to see a search engine placement (unless of course you're worried about MSN or Yahoo)

Agree lately it has been pretty staggering. I know my affiliate blog appears on google within 5 mins of posting an article. I also bought a domain last week, added a bit of content (a few lines) and already its in google and after 5 days appears #21 in Google.com and #4 in Google.co.uk for a pretty nice term

    Happy days!

Just need to finish off the site, get more content and some links in place :td

That has ALWAYS been the advice I give new affiliates. Doing something you are interested in makes life and AM so much more easy.

I find the speed it picks up posts on some forums even more shocking. In those cases there isn't RSS and ping services to help it find the new content. e.g. "23 seconds was all it took to appear indexed" - Google Search. It seems to find topics here within an hour.

There was a post on here yesterday that mentioned a domain name. I did a search on google for the domain (for no real reason lol), and it showed the related post about 4 minutes after it had been made.

V impressive, but might it have been even quicker - was it 23 seconds from you posting, to going to G and searching?

The strange thing I find is some of my sites sometimes lose this rapid inclusion I am doing same thing, posting regular some pings etc I cant understand why sometimes it losing its instant entry

Anyone know if there is any logic to why google lists some sites quickly.

I used to think it was authority and backlinks but I have had these rapid inclusions from new sites, and also established sites Similarly had sites of same kind of age and backlinks and they dont get instant entry.

Blog pages seem to get in lightning fast. I imagine because Google sees Blog content as topical, and up to the minute and so to give relevant search results about the topics of the day... the blogs go in right away. Same deal with the forums I suppose.
