Got a wierd one today, noticed that my commissions are down today, so checked my adwords campaign to find that my ad's aren't running.

According to the interface, the reason they aren't running is because I`ve "exceeded my budget". However, I`ve got a budget of £10 a day for the particular campaign, and its only spent 22p today. Tried upping the budget to £15, but it still says its exceeded.

The campaigns been running for at least 6 months without problems, and never seen this happen before.

Does anyone know why it would be doing this, or is it just a bug?

Looking at my keywords, a lot of my competitors ad's aren't running either. It doesn't look like we've been slapped, as the quality score is still showing good for all my keywords, i`m just getting the budget exceeded warning.

Hey mate, if its the same thing I had a few months back, its calculated that your budget for an entire month may have gone over what you allow. Its a weird one but if you increase your daily amount (by a fair amount, maybe pick a campaign that won't get a massive number of clicks) it should kick them back in to life.

    Cheers Ian,

Its a wierd one, as on no day have I spent more than 50% of my budget, so even over a month it should be ok.

I`ve changed it from £10 to £40 so i`ll see if that works.

im really annoyed today with adwords!

I made a change for a limited promotion at least 1 hour before it started, and it took an hour and half to change my advert, with no advert showing at all in the meantime!!

I changed it back this afternoon to exactly how it was but with slightly more per keyword, and my ads have not shown since this time for this particular campaign!

No messages about budget exceded, but I did increase it by 50% at the time!

So I've wasted a good 8 hours of advertising one of my best campaigns now! Not happy!

From what i`ve read there are a lot of strange things going on at the moment - not slaps, but various things causing ad's not to show.

Looks like there are a number of bugs emerging...

tbp, is it a new account? if so it may be under review, for some reason the budget message is always given. It usually takes a few days to clear if it is that.

Mine is saying this for every keyword I have....

    Ad showing?
    No
The keyword phrase does not currently trigger any of your ads.
There are several possible reasons why your ad isn't showing for this keyword, including:

    * You just added the keyword to your campaign. You may experience a short wait as your keyword goes through the review process.
    * Our system is experiencing a delay.

    Quality Score:
    Great
    Minimum bid is £0.03

Still not had any clicks for almost a day now, and is costing me sales

I also have the same issue with an ad I created today.
    Quality score = Great
    Minimum bid is 0.03
    Exact same message as Grizzly
    Any ideas anyone?

No, the campaign has been running since last November.

Looks like things are changing though, my quality score has gone done from Great to OK unfortunately, and my ad's dropped position, even though it had a great CTR.

Mind you some of my ad's are marked as CTR's of 200% today.

My campaign came back on Friday, after 2 emails to adwords support, to which I got no reply.

Ad position went from 2 to 8, and been like that all day friday and saturday, but went back up to 2 today thankfully (with no changes on my behalf).

Looks like a bug, which has been sorted now. Did have a big drop in commissions though because of it unfortunately, as although i`m number 1 in Google, that particular site earns more through PPC than natural search.

Real PITA, but i`m glad its sorted now.

One of my campaigns which has been quality scored as excellent (or good, can't remember) for over a year now is unfortunatly now giving the typical google slap of £5.00! Went from paying 0.02p for top rank on highly competive keywords to nothing. Still, I'm not too bothered, wasn't a great earner and think seo is the only way forward, not ppc. They will continue to sting good customers and enforce strict rules on what they deem good content.

I've emailed them my thoughts, wonder if I'll still be able to log on tomorrow

It's seem that you are affected by google AdWords slap as i did.
When you point your mouse at magnifying glass icon (keyword) it shows : your daily budget is overrun. This is bull****, everything is just fine with your budget it's just nasty Googles find something in your account to violate their policy and conditions.

sometimes it's really hard to get back with them, just try to chat them in livechat and sort out everything on spot.
