I set up a campaign a few days ago to cover 'non-working' hours. Basically is is because some products people tend to buy online, and some they call up about. Hence I use a different campaign when we're not manning the phones.

I set it up to spread the budget of £50 over the day. Its set to run 00.00-9.00 and 17.30-24.00. So why is the budget always used up by 9am?!? Am I missing something? I thought it tried to spread the spend evenly!

    Bloody Adwords!

Have you made a mistake and set it up at £50 per click?

You had me worried for a second there Pete, but no, the CPC is pretty normal.

I must be missing something, I just can't work out what!

Not sure why it's not spreading out as you intended but you could try just bidding on [specific keywords] which would result in less clicks, hence your budget would last longer.

You'll get a better quality targeted leads as well

You could just run 2 separate campaigns, each at the specified time span with half the budget each?

Yea thats another option. I'm just confused as to why I need to. The 'span budget' thing has always seemed to work for me in the past. Nothing is ever simple....

Might be an idea to check all your settings or start again from scratch. It's possible you have done something without realising?

Have you started working on your new Christmas tree campaign yet, btw? I've got a Christmas site in the pipeline.

    hey,

have you tried your budget options? maybe it is on accelerated instead of standard, also have a look at 'view recommended budget' perhaps your budget is too low? Both these options are in edit campaign settings.

    hope this helps,

    Em

Yes, I am pretty sure you have clicked on 'accelerated' display of your ads in your campaigns settings. It means that you have told Google to show your ads as fast as they can untill the daily budget limit is exhausted.

Go back and change it to 'satndard: sho my ads more evenly through the day( time specifide by you)'.

    Hope it helps.
